Hungry for Meaningful Connection?

We were far out on a paddle when my daughter’s boyfriend sliced his hand open on a rock. A great hullabaloo followed, including 5 of us piling in the car to get to the rural medical clinic for 4 stitches.

In hindsight we realized that maybe 5 people were not really necessary. But it was a case when one person – the boyfriend – really needed to not carry his challenge alone.

We all have moments too difficult to manage by ourselves. From carrying a heavy box to going through life events that metaphorically slice us to the bone.

That’s why we need meaningful community.

Not just a festival crowd. Not just a busy schedule.

But meaningful connections. People with whom you can talk about real things. People who will acknowledge what’s really going on in your life. People who are eager to listen to your intuitions, dreams and creative impulses.

Meaningful community cultivates soul connections – both among people and with the sacred mystery. In fact, in the Buddhist tradition, a meaningful community practice is as important -and as enlightening - as great teachers and great teachings.

🌀 Many people tell me that the meaningful connections in the weekly Wisdom Dances Circle are what get them through their week.

🍁 Join me in meaningfully mark the changing seasons of our lives at Gathering at the Threshold this coming Sunday November 1.

❤️ We will be celebrating how creating meaningful community is the juice that animates all Eye of the Heart programs at Gifts of the Heart. It will be a lovely evening of soulful connection.

I hope we can meaningfully connect at one of these circles.

Love,

emily
