Gathering:

A Contemplative Circle for Writers

Writing is a solitary practice, a quiet art of showing up to yourself and to the page. Gathering with fellow writers provides nourishment and inspiration to sustain your practice–a chance to reflect on your process and product with others engaged deeply in the craft.

Gathering creates space, inspired by contemplative practices, for those who identify as women to reflect on our work, with the companionship of other writers. Gathering meetings will center on what is coming alive in our writing and in our writing life, our creative practice and creative souls. We will not “workshop” our writing, but will listen deeply, with intention, to ourselves and to each other.

Each monthly meeting will include a brief silent meditation, dedicated reflective writing time, and an opportunity to share our work, process, and progress. Each meeting will be based on a theme, providing a lens through which to explore our works-in-progress.
